The King Midget was invented in 1946 in Athens Ohio and was manufactured until 1969. The Model I is the smallest "Street-Legal" American-made motorcar ever built, and for much of its early history, was actually sold as a mailorder kit! During the 1960's, the King Midget was the 6th largest automobile manufacturer in the United States.
